YTS Classes

New classes are starting at different locations, simply register your name and preferences for class times and locations to be kept informed.

There are different YTS classes designed for different demands, as follows:

YTS - Fitness Classes

YTS is an exercise program for the fitness, balance and strengthening of mind, body and energy.

Consistent YTS will teach you co-ordination, relaxation, balance and strength, which will lead to clear, focused and powerful actions both in the art and in life.

The YTS art effectively stretches and strengthens the muscles, ligaments and joints. This in turn leads to a better shaped and toned body.

In conjunction with this, by focusing and circulating the energy you will learn to purify your energy and open your body's meridians, this will lead to a stronger and healthier vitality or energy system.

YTS - Student Kung Fu Classes.

Children and students need regular exercise for mental development and physical growth. The YTS training program will help them to develop focus, discipline, respect and consistence. They will accept challenges and extend their personal capabilities as they develop balance, co-ordination, a strong cardio vascular and energetic system.

A fun, respectful and disciplined environment will encourage children and students to grow into confident young achievers.

YTS - Self Defence, Kung Fu and Combat Training Classes.

YTS is an efficient martial art for combat competition training. This program favours people who want to be professional fighters.

YTS as self-defence training will be efficient and effective for people who want to learn, practice and apply martial arts self defence with the least time and effort. This is because YTS has its emphasis on the doctrine of three "S" training. Three "S" incorporates speed, strength and skill.

YTS - Instructor Classes

The YTS Academy has intensive classes for training people (New Zealand and overseas) who are devoted to YTS and would like to instruct either full or part time. The YTS Academy offers continuing training classes for instructors to refine and improve their knowledge as well as skills.

YTS - Yang Style Tai Chi for Senior Citizens.

YTS is an extremely efficient exercise to maintain health and flexibility into the latter stages of life. This program involves slow graceful movements that will enhance your balance and co-ordination, reducing the likelihood of accidents. Through regular practice you will achieve an aligned posture, stronger legs and have better mobility.

YTS - Body Shaping Classes.

As we all know excessive body weight and a disproportional body shape can lead to many health problems. The YTS Body Weight & Body Shape programme is the most effective exercise programme available to combat this. It provides optimum results for those who are looking for the ideal body.

Firstly, YTS focuses on strengthening and toning all areas of the body. This will provide a supple and well shaped body with slender flexible muscles. Most exercises such as weights create short tight muscles. These muscles will turn into fat as soon as you stop. This provides a problem if you are sick or stop exercising for a while.

Secondly, the programme is scientifically and holistically designed according to the theory of Synergetic Medicine.

Thirdly, our YTS instructors will tailor a programme to fit an individual body condition, achieving an ideal result.

Lastly, this programme is a complete package that includes lifestyle and dietary advice. If health issues arise, our affiliated clinic practitioners can be helpful in diagnoses and treatment.

YTS - Back-shoulder workshop Classes.

Back and shoulder problems do not only develop through physical work, but are also increasing in offices, mostly due to long working hours on computers. Aches, pains and stiffness reduce productivity dramatically. Often people have to stop working. Thus, it is important to prevent serious problems before they start and treat the cause rather than the symptoms, this can be achieved in only a few minutes a day. With this programme people are often surprised by the effect that can be achieved so easily.

YTS - The back-shoulder workshop programme is guided by the study of physiomanutherapy a branch of Synergetic Medicine. Our trainers are either clinical practitioners and/or qualified instructors.

This programme consists of three parts:

1. Assessment: A physical assessment is undertaken so that an individual exercise plan can be carried out and a suggestion of posture adjustment recommended.

2. Training step by step: Specialised YTS instructors will lead students step by step to practise YTS exercises.

3. Clinical supervision: Individual exercises are given to suit the needs of the student. If it is necessary, a suggestion of the right treatments such as physiomanutherapy, acupuncture, herbal remedy etc to treat the problem might be recommended to the student.

YTS - For the Health Impaired

After having have tried a number of healing modalities people often become disillusioned and loose the fighting spirit. The most efficient way of obtaining or returning the body to the former good health is to take the important step - help yourself.

When you return the bodies balance through YTS you allow the body to begin healing itself. Patience and persistence are the foundation of recovery and every time you practice you will notice an improvement.

YTS meditation and the above mentioned forms and styles are taught at the Yang Tsin Su Academy. Classes are available from beginning to advanced levels.

YTS learning tools, for YTS students, such as charts of movements, DVD slides, DVDs of movements and Yang style of Tai Chi Chuan performed by Dr Lee, can be purchased from Yang Tsin Su Academy.

Times and Locations of classes are various, class details are on request.

Uniform

A uniform is worn at class not only for comfort but to encourage a positive attitude and pride in your practice.

Grading and Assessment System

Grading and assessments, whilst available, are not compulsory at the Yang Tsin Su Academy.

Grading and assessments differ according to the level, form and style being tested.

Students can be assessed regularly and are eligible to receive certificates from the Yang Tsin Su Academy if they reach the required level.

The grading and assessment consists of the following three parts:

1. Final examination and tests;

2. Class training and attitude;

3. Attendance of classes and events.
